Ive not seen that actual book, but I worked through the sticking system with him, and like many things that he put out, it was life changing for me.

Its interesting, because last time I spoke with him (via email), he said hes DONE with teaching. No clinics, private lessons, or anything of the sort. He did mention that he has a lot of material for new books, but wasn't sure about putting it out. He seemed to think that the new slew of Internet-based teachers were really dumbing down the younger and/or less experienced drummers.

Ill definitely buy the book!

Whaaaaaat? How did I not already know about this?! Chaffee's method seems ideal for this type of application though, I've used many of those stickings to generate groves/fills in odd times. Looks like a must have...

Without seeing this book, I would believe it is a just a rehash of his stickings book, but presented in odd meter. If you have his stickings books, you can write your own odd meter versions. But the main reason is to play a song. So find a song you are playing that is in odd meter, and see if your stickings work with it. But really, the song comes first, then you create/use stickings that work with it----instead of forcing a practice room sticking down the throat of a song.

I´m working in the old Sticking Patterns book... Loving it. Already feel that I´m improving my phrasing and overall time feel.

All anyone needs is really an accent sheet and a rhythm scale, but I'll never mind some insight from someone who's been teaching, playing and working on this stuff for a lifetime. ;-)

The price is also less than a burger and a coke where I'm from.

All some guys need is the first few pages of Syncopation and some attitude.
