Josh talks about Vinnie a bit at about 2:23 in...

I'll listen to it later but Josh Freese is probably the smoothest, most confident drummer I've ever seen live. That includes Vinnie, Weckl, Gadd, Carey, Gavin, Copeland, etc, etc. Obviously those guys have more chops but Josh is the most confident drummer I've ever seen. You really have to SEE him to get how good he is.

I haven't got o the Vinnie stories yet, but I nearly wrote the car off listening to the Buckethead stories. I was laughing so hard!

I remember the NAMM shows when he was one of "those kids" getting everyone's attention in the mid-80s.

Glad to see him make a go of it!

Roli Garcia, jr and Tony Royster, jr were the other kids running around the NAMM Show pounding on stuff and gathering crowds.

I hated those kids.

Lovin that Alex van halen is his first main drum influence. He's spot on how good Alex is. I'm also a UGE AVH fan.
