If you can convince some schmuck to fork over ten grand for a huge custom drumset, then have it vibrafibed, it's a safe bet you are one of the greats.

And of course...Portnoy's house. http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/mike-portnoys-house/

It's funny, but when I was a kid, I cared about this stuff, but now, I could not care less. I want to hear a song that moves me, and music coming from the drums.

Since we're still talking about this - Mangini is in the top 50 but Thomas Lang and Marco aren't? So whoever wins the DT gig gets on the list?

Dave Grohl? Really? I've never understood his popularity but everyone else loves him so I guess it's just me.

and the biggest WTF, Virgil is not on the list. That's unbelievable.

I just registered two domains for this. Once I have the site up and running, I'll let you know. Not sure how I'll handle a drummer's position in the list yet. Maybe allow users an account that they can use to vote for their top 10?

MD let people vote for their top 10 and then they did the math. I don't think there's anyway to prove Virgil is the 17th/23rd/45th greatest drummer ever but he has to be on that list somewhere.

Cool, that makes sense. I'll do that, and show how many votes were tabulated per drummer, and let people change their vote whenever they want, so the list will be forever changing.
