Pete's brilliant songwriting and Simon playing MUSICAL drums- sublime. This track and 'Give Blood' are a masterful combination of these two.

I played with a Genesis tribute band a long time ago, and we recorded Firth of Fifth for this record: https://play.spotify.com/album/2n7y4zj1gp2DeMUJ9eXbFL

The sound isn't great. It was all done in one day, mostly live in the studio. Plus, they ended up editing out a big section because it was too long for the compilation. I can't remember the singer's name, but he was from somewhere in Quebec.

Hey Paul... Yeah, I remember you mentioning that... "Over The Garden Wall"... :)
Can't access spotify in Canada.. Feel free to email me the mp3 if you want.. I'd like to listen to that! :)

On any given day my choice of band and song would likely be different.

For some reason my thoughts drifted to old jazz and prog rock.

Return to Forever, King Crimson, Ambrosia... Gentle Giant.

'Hmm... I wonder what my Favorite Gentle Giant song would be?'

After thinking about it and listening to some samples, I came up with this one, probably because it was not as scintillating as the other groups I was listening to:

Alain Caron - S.E.C.--> Why? --> Jerry De Villiers Jr... I became a fan listening to Jerry on this album. Love his soloing here..

KING CRIMSON - FRAME BY FRAME --> Fabulous tune.. Ferocious intro, the various transitions.. Very original playing by Bruford.. + his singles + how he rides on the octoban...

Boys in the Band was my top choice initially, but after listening to this

this

and this,

I needed something a little more laid back.

I liked the Alain Caron song!

This whole album was such a fresh approach to playing at the time. I picked up many useful things to add to my vocabulary from listening to Zach. Not many tracks on youtube from this album, but there isn't a bad one throughtout in my opinion.

Some not so recent playinghttp://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ScottPazera.. track 7
