Was changing heads when I found this yellow-ish stains inside my 12" tom...
Never seen something like that with other drum... I tried to sand it (lightly) and wont come of that easily... could it be something pouring from inside the wood?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

It could possibly be surfacing moisture from the shell plies. That would be my guess. How old are the drums?

My guess is that this is a natural oil like fluid from the wood, resin. One of the reasons Gretsch might use the sound enhancing 'silver sealer'

Indeed... Happened to you too?
Never seen something like that... That´s a cheapo set I use to gig (I got it new 4/5 years ago). Doesn´t seem to be "normal" to me... right?
