Hey Everyone!
When I was younger, I remember seeing Horacio's performance from the 2000 Modern Drummer Festival (I believe) and there was one groove that just floored me! I said to myself, "One day I will be able to play that." After years of coordination studies, and listening to Horacio, I finally got it. I wanted to share this with you to "demystify" what Horacio does. It takes some work, but definitely worth the struggle! Thanks again to everyone for sharing great knowledge on this page! Have an awesome day!!

Wow. That came together nicely. Props.
Could you describe how you get the "feel" for a Latin style of set playing? I find that my own style tends to be too loose...I'd also thought to myself recently that a "marching" style and a Latin-type style seems to be polar opposites. Do you have any advice on that? Thanks!

Juan that is very cool bro. You are a natural teacher...if this was
a lesson plan is was perfectly laid out and organized into very
manageable chunks. I forgot who I saw a few years ago at the Spud...
might have been Horacio or another big name "Latin player" and
he was so smooth and relaxed playing such complex grooves like
the one you "decoded" I tend to see Latin grooves like this similar
to complex funk grooves ala Garibaldi and the others who play
relatively busy but tightly woven in the groove.

Horacio tours a lot, he must be in Europe this summer...
He was also touring with Zucchero last year, don't worry for him, he's still as busy that awesome his drumming is.
