You've got it all man, chops, sound, groove, ideas...at that top level. I know this was posted before but it's pretty ridiculous:

WOW...those are really aggressive fills for a jazz break.
Not in line with the Joe Porcaro school...lol

Of course, I hope the answer is "good," but I am mildly biased. :0)

As maestro Rodge says from time to time, it's "taste and colors." :)

Hi Guys,

This clip--One-Handed Roll Combos Around the Drums--is the 9th and last installment I will be posting from my clinic at The Drum Shop North Shore. The one-handed roll combos are in the first 20 seconds; the rest of the video actually consists of a number of clips totaling about 5 minutes. Some highlights include some 4-way jazz independence with 5's (at the 2:24 mark) morphing into double-time swing in 5; halftime shuffle with poly 7's in the kick at 3:03 mark, 32nd-note 10's modulating into decuplets at 3:38 mark; and the conclusion solo at the 4:00 mark onward. Steve

Hello All,

Well, somebody has to maintain this thread! :D

Does anyone know if there is a way to embed a Facebook video? Here is the link (a 59-second solo from a recent gig with the trio I've been playing in): https://www.facebook.com/10000684154587 ... nref=story

Thanks for listening!

Thanks for posting the assorted clips from the drum clinic. Nice bump cause I missed it. Lights out amazing stuff. Been listening to David Hines Nebula all week in the car. My 8 year old doesn't care for it but she deals. The drumming keeps your mind thinking. Very inspiring.

Kurtis,

Thanks for the very kind comments!

Jeff,

I'm very glad to hear that you liked it--thanks for the taking the time to say so; I really appreciate it!

Steve
