I´m a drummgeek and also like to be out in the sunny weather. So I combined the two last summer when I was visiting my mom in northern parts of Sweden.
Anyone else shedding outdoors?

I grew tired of listening to complaints from fellow apartment dwellers and managers which resulted in a period of packing my practice pad kit in the trunk as I headed for the local mountains. I loved the solitude and inspiring scenery. One problem. Bugs of flight wore me down. It's hard to whack them away when you're trying to focus on both hands. I solved the problem with an old camping trick...smoke a cigar and they'll stay away. But for health reasons I stopped doing it.

That´s a nice practice room you have!
I do the same but in my garden.
Cup of coffee and practicepad....

With the temps in Chicago going back into single digits I won't be doing any outdoor playing for, oh I'll say another 5 months. I can see by May or June being out on the patio, baby backs slow cooking on the grill and knocking out a few rattawhackamadiddleflaflas on the pad.

I once had my kit out in some sticks desert town out in the CA high desert, I decided to setup in a huge sandy area pre-dawn and shed as the sun came up. Was pretty awesome.

Like rhythmatist, the temps here right now are just way too cold for outdoor anything, except snowboarding. In the summer, heck yes!

This isn't me, but it looks like a nice spot to shed... and I bet it's a lot cheaper than a lock-out...

When the weather is warm, I actually do this quite often! I bring the pad out to the back yard with metronome and coffee in hand, and it's incredibly relaxing for me. Not as much this time of year, since it's quite cold this time of the year in Providence, RI (30 degrees F as we speak, which isn't terribly cold but just a little too cold to drum outside unfortunately). There's something about playing on the full kit outdoors too. I just love the sound of the drums outside, they sound so natural to my ears.
