Inching my way through all the book demos. Here's one on the flam triplets (not swiss triplet or flam accent)

Chris you're a machine! You're getting a pretty good drum sound there, I like the grooves on the felt tension one.

Alex - I like that meaty flam fill too. I think I'm using that and some variations at times. Super cool fill!

I like how common it is that folks are all mic'd up now in their videos. Everyone's learning to be a drum engineer!

Thanks Steve! Yeah that's kind of my mandatory blues shuffle fill.

Good sounds Chris, I still use your "de-pinging" trick on an 18" floor tom I have and it works wonders.

Yeah one thing that takes a lot of extra work is recording mixed audio separately. Without it though I think people just click away. Man, some of these instagram/youtube drum celebrities have insane production on their videos. It makes me wonder the future of what it means to "make it" as a drummer. I've had more and more students lately tell me they want to get popular on youtube as their goal, rather than touring or studio work.

Happy Birthday by the way!

I'm slowly losing my mind with no live gigs these days haha. Did a video trying to get a Van Halen type snare sound.

Second video has me tweaking the knobs in Cubase.

Here's my Paul Simon cover I recorded yesterday. It's a great song for learning how to change from rim click to rim shot.
