Drummers Who Seemed to Dissapear.

Postby bored at work » Tue Apr 17, 2018 5:05 am

On the back of the post about drummers who have or haven't made it big, drummers who just seemed to disappear. There are several drummers who seemed to be huge during the 80's and the 90's, in all the ad's in MD etc and some of them aren't even in the business anymore.

I heard that Myron Grombacher is a car salesman these days. Whatever happened to Mike Baird?

If y ou watch the mockumentary, THIS IS SPINAL TAP,
you will be made aware that indeed, there were several drummers
who did DISSAPEAR.
One, was Stumpy Joe. Nothing was left on his drum throne but a little globule.

Pretty sure it was a green globule.

How about Chris Parker, he was all over the place, SNL, Stuff...helluva drummer.

One thing is for certain, extending a drumming career past your 30s is tough. I mean, no health insurance, no retirement...same goes for lots of players. Getting a teaching gig at a college or somewhere is a good move for some.

That's a U.S. phenomenon.

The last couple of years Horacio toured with Italian singer Zucherro Fornaciari. Not sure but my guess is that he moved to Italy permanently....

Rod is still doing it with the Dregs recently - someone posted pics from a show in my FB feed.
