Pop songs with Vinnie

I'd be interested to know of well known pop songs, outside of his obvious work with Sting, that Vinnie has recorded drums for. A song I really like is Jennifer Warnes cover of First We Take Manhattan. I'd been practising time to this song for a while and only later discovered Vinnie was the drummer. Name some others he's been on?

The whole album is a masterclass, and the lil' extra bonus with Jeff laying down a great shuffle.
I never know what song to post, here that one.

Always loved that song, the whole album too with the late Carlos Vega, the way they go out of the bridge, makes me laugh each time. :-)

Way too classy...

As Christmas is coming... ;-)

1st take, outch !!! :o

Joni, no word...

Ah Gino...

Vinnie has been fired from that Jay Graydon's session, but they kept two songs, awesome !!!

That ballad, hell yeah, and like says Vinnie, always a big good drum sound on Ricky's recording.

I should have clarified really that I was more interested in songs where the artist that Vinnie recorded for was the version that actually charted in the US or UK pop charts. I think of the ones posted here, and they're all awesome but a bit 'muso'ish', Nightshift by Commodores charted in the top 10, a massive hit. I always thought that was Marvin Gaye, never knew it was Commodores, and certainly didn't know it was Vinnie on it, very cool. I'm pretty sure Oleta Adams made Get Here famous and charted, not sure about the Brenda Russell version. And Bonnie Raitt made 'I Can't Make You Love Me' famous rather than Gitte Haenning who I've never heard of but she sounds really good.

The title track of the album was also released as a single and was a minor R&B hit. It was later recorded by Oleta Adams and became a huge trans-Atlantic hit for her in 1991 (US #5, UK #4).

I remember when that record came out. The song "Piano in the Dark" got tons of airplay, but so did "Get Here".

It's a bit different as there's limited live drumming, but he's still the "drummer."

"Wild Things Run Fast" would be the album that got me into Joni as well as Mike and Vinnie.
