As mush as I LOVE Si, he's not the best exemple of LA's drumming in my book.
BUT, I don't see/hear splash when I hear Si, I hear big large open sound, large cymbals, gong drums, and a very clever drumming.
Brit drumming is always something unique, I'm fan.

Re: Quarantine Chatty!
I thought it sounded way stressed.
Bass and drums don't gel to me.
Anticipations need to be both more relaxed and more confident.

And hardly any masks apparently.
Deleted a snarky comment.
But yes Paul, no masks on most, you did have to have one in bars, but no one wore them.

Jeff Porcaro

That was cool. It's always nice to see/hear Toto, no matter the lineup. My main issue is the cymbal choice. Meinl has plenty of big sounds in their catalog, short, darker crashes just don't cut through. And it's not just being used to Simon's sound, Jeff's Paiste crashes always exploded and fit the music. I had the same issue with Keith's sound, cymbal choice is a huge factor when playing rock.

Had my second shot on Friday- got tired real quick and felt like I was coming down with something all day yesterday but I feel great today!
It’s a major sigh of relief to be vaccinated after a year and a half of our lives that we’ll never get back. Hope ya’ll are getting vaccinated and that we’ll all be back to work before long!
On a side note, where are my football (sorry, yanks- not your football!!) fans at?! I’ve become quite attached to Southampton FC the past few years as that’s where I was born. We’ve had a tragic season in the Premier League but that’s the joy of the sport sometimes!
