Three songs in at the Grammy Awards...I am OLD...
these "songs" are stunningly horrible...what happened
to music? Is this just entropy...it has all been done
so the only hope is new 15yo's that don't know
any better?

Kill off Dr Seuss, bring in Cardi B with a sng so vulgar and insane it can't be played anywhere, but she's not high culture.

Who would have thought George Carlin understated things.

Nobody ‘killed’ off Dr. Seuss- the family pulled six books that may be taken as a wee bit offensive. All other books by him are still available. There’s a difference between a family behind an artist and/or a private business making their own decisions and ‘cancel culture’.

Guys, why even bother with stuff like the Grammys? We all know it doesn’t represent us as musicians, and unfortunately, we’re a bit of the ‘old guard’ here. It’s just not for us. Do I wish that it was? Of course. But is it? Nah. I’ll pass.

In other news- moving to Philly on Monday. Closed on our new home this morning and close on our old home at the end of the month. Pretty nuts but I’m looking forward to getting settled and getting my drum room back up and going!

If you say so, I guess it must be true. Good news, the Communist Manifesto is still widely available, and Mein Kampf if that's your groove.

I sure hope so... It'll be a long one with many parts.

I am still waiting for the Weather Report documentary to be released, it's been so long. Looks like it's stalled...

Yes, that is good news. If only people would read it. Karl Marx and his ideas were brilliant.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Communist_Manifesto

The section goes on to defend communism from various objections, including claims that it advocates communal prostitution or disincentivises people from working.
The section ends by outlining a set of short-term demands—among them a progressive income tax; abolition of inheritances and private property; abolition of child labor;
free public education; nationalization of the means of transport and communication; centralization of credit via a national bank;
expansion of publicly owned land, etc.—the implementation of which would result in the precursor to a stateless and classless society.

And don't kid yourself that there are actually any real communist nations.

A great book that everyone should read is the recent Noam Chomsky book, Consequences of Capitalism, which quotes Karl Marx quite a bit.

LOL. This explains quite a lot my Canadian friend. You ok?

I'll not take the bait, I shouldn't have mentioned Dr Seuss, it's a sensitive subject, just like Mr Potato Head.
