If it helps staying afloat and helps with e.g. distribution it could be a good thing.

Hopefully they'll respect the legacy, which I see reason to doubt in this specific case. DW's actually been good for Gretsch as far as I can see and I hope that trend continues. Times are uncertain and Roland has generally stayed solid as a company. as for electronics I like what I see from Pearl a bit more, but it depends.

I'm interested in Slingerland news regarding DW

In my mind news is Gretsch Acquired by Roland...

Since Gretsch is what I like that would be something I can relate to.

I guess it can go both ways, but just guessing I think this is mostly about DW and Roland sharing technology and that they will keep the small brands they own mostly as is.

For those mostly into electronic stuff I guess not everyone's happy, but if it means I can go to a normal store here in Norway that have all the Roland stuff and now get easier access to Gretsch, Slingerland and all LP products LP, I wouldn't mind that at all. Gretsch is crazy expensive in Norway.

At least there's this long overdue upgrade.
