Dime A Dozen..??

Postby ebbz » Fri Feb 11, 2011 8:47 pm

I've been using utorrent to download from Dime A Dozen; and for some reason they won't download from Dime? Have you guys had any issues with Dime? With Utorrent? Any other downloaders to suggest :?: :)

I used to dl a lot from there, but it's dried up for me lately. It could be a million things, check their help link or check to see if they support utorrent.

Mac or PC?
uTorrent is well regarded for Mac although not recommended for DIME. I know some folks who swear by it, though. I use transmission and have not had any problems (Mac).

From Dime wiki page:
http://wiki.dimeadozen.org/index.php/Di ... r_Mac_OS_X
for Mac OS X

* Vuze (formerly Azureus). For more details also check out Vuze Wiki
* Mainline (Bram's official) client up through version 4.4.1 - Note: From v4.22.0 through v5.2.0, Mainline is blocked! You can download the .dmg files for permitted versions of Mainline for OS X from BitTorrent.com's Archives.
* Transmission, v1.42 or later.
* µTorrent for OS X is not a recommended client at this writing.

Once you are up and running check out these RIDICULOUS, newish torrents:

well.... I use a PC

I've used utorrent before for Dime, but that was a while ago. I use utorrent with Pirate Bay and it works great!

Bitorrent? Will that work with Dime?

From same page previous link pointed too:

for Windows

* Vuze (formerly Azureus). For more details also check out Vuze Wiki
* BitTornado Caution: the ads on the edge of that page may include links to "BitTornado 2007" or something similarly named. That is not it. Download only the legitimate BitTornado from the links in the main parts of the page and compare it to the MD5 checksum when your copy is completely downloaded. You can download a quick-and-dirty manual how to set up BitTornado here: BitTornado settings PDF
* Mainline (Bram's official) client up through version 4.20.9, or version 6.0.0 or later - Note: From v4.22.0 through v5.2.0, Mainline is blocked! You can download permitted versions from BitTorrent at OldVersion.com or BitTorrent.com's Archives.
* µTorrent version 1.1.7.2 or later (note: µTorrent for OS X is not among our recommended clients at this writing)
* Torrentflux - Note: Apache/Windows with PHP/Windows and MySQL/Windows are required; you may want to use XAMPP for a quick and smooth intallation of these requirements.

I'm getting the same problem recently and I switched to vuze from utorrent to see if it was the client with still no results. I'm thinking it's the website or something has changed with my network which is verizon... idk

Are you guys firewalled? using a router to access internet wirelessly?
portforward.com may provide some assistance. Although I cannot say whether DIME has made any changes that would affect you, DIME is pretty good at disseminating useful info of that type. They are not likely to do something to alienate users.
