Yeah! I noticed that he seemed to play coated heads quite a lot over the years, particularly on the DVD of the making of the Convergence album. It wasn't until he started to do these livestreams that I noticed that he'd gone back to clear heads. He answered the question really comprehensively. We know each other quite well, although we haven't been in contact for a number of years. I'm not sure if he saw my name or not.

I'd say he's been using clear for years maybe - I'm pretty sure most of the footage I've seen in the online school he uses clear? I could be mistaken.

These Dave Weckl livestreams just completely make my Sunday...

I'm amazed at his whole camera setup...everything he's he does he takes it to the next level.

New Wek in the house. The solo with the hits at the end of the tune is killing. This fill is illegal in almost every state. 5:55-6:02!

Just listening to it I was afraid the police were going to raid my house. That was just sick!!! It's amazing that anyone could even think of that kind of phrase let alone make it sound so musical and logical. But I guess that's what the great ones do. I'm constantly in awe of Weckl's ability to make everything just flow.

Thanks for posting that tune, Kurtis.
When in doubt...roll.

One of my favorite episodes of Dave's channel!
Intro solo is very jazz oriented but he works
through a new Jay Oliver tune w/Jay's input
like in studio
