Just me or did those hats and cymbals sound horrible (mic placement???)
...but that snare...OH MY...that snare is perfection!!! That Yammie kit
was SWEET...love this set-up!!!

This is the Porcaro-Paich Paiste plastic MD sound supplement groove on more Weckl steroids yes?
Dave is always so serious and adult...nice to remember he was a young cat with
long hair...he looks pretty sexy here! Had to blow some MI minds back in the day tho...
Alotta, WTF nods happening. The hand-foot combo @12:23 is always SICK...like
in 10 years I will NEVER be able to do that just because I want to show off that I can do that
to other drummers every chance I can squeeze it in!

All the high frequences sound distorted. Cymbal thing right from the beginning completely overloads something, so..

Everything is perfection on this tune but that keyboard
sound...some of Dave's fills are just SICK...then the aggression
at the end after the solo exchanges...manly stuff.

His solo section was the DW Aja portion of the tune...
@5:58...come on man...placement and feel spot on!

That's the most Weckl-video I've ever seen. Shot so well too!

Nice vid, even included the trademark blowing out his cheeks when playing a fill round the toms!

HOD ALERT>>>

PM'd Steve already but the more the better...

Anyone share the best way to get a good audio using a cell phone???

I am trying to go with a few friends and shoot three cams if Catalina
is cool with this...last time I went years ago they were not...I want
table cams on small tripods for a clean shot.

My fear is going through all this effort and getting shitty audio...has happened at Spud
but might have been because there is a phone setting I missed for this type of recording.

Anyone???

No place I know of is ok with recording. It's the artists one should ask, though.

Mike Landau actually encourages it. Just good exposure for him, I think, as his solo stuff probably isn't attracting the biggest crowds.

In any case, you need external mics.

There are new things out now, but something like my old Edirol, if levels and bass are set right, can sound really good.
