Those are band-aids that he really likes.

Thanks for the kind words! I use the 3M Nexcare Active Strips. They recently changed the shape of them slightly but I have stock pile of the old ones. Nonetheless they should work wonders. To see them in detail you can check out the “Day in the life on the road” feature in the bonus section of my first Methods & Mechanics DVD available right here at the link below which is the store on my site.

Tom Lang has an article there about his battles with CTS. I've been getting numbness in my index finger after 90min of playing. Luckily I'm not playing out. Not sure what's causing it, other than playing drums.

I went to see Peter Frampton with Jason Bonham opening last night.

Fun show, Frampton is an energetic guy, great player. What a career he's had.

A conversation I had with a Dude.

Dude: which ones Jason Bonham?
Me: What? The drummer.
Dude: like his Dad?
Me: yeah, like his Dad.

But Bonham is sounding like his Dad a lot more than he ever has. His groove is relaxed and heavy. I used to think he was way too on top of the beat. The music is coming to him now. I was really impressed. His groove is wider and much more even.

Frampton's band was killer, great drummer as well.

It's swelling that puts pressure n your median nerve. It's very common with any type of repetitive stress and goes away with rest.

I think surgery is a last resort and Thomas made it chronic by not listening to his doctor. Some doctors push surgery others prefer to try other things. They don't all agree. It can often be debated if surgery has any effect or positive effect at all.

Diet, heavy on the anti-inflamnatory stuff, rest, CTS exercises and careful stretching should keep those things at bay. Not just drummers, but all musicians, people who use keyboards and mouses all day etc.. should really spend a few minutes on those types of exercises every day.

Now, Thomas obviously works out, probably with some heavy weights and that's not necessarily the best for your wrists either.

Not convinced it's swelling. I think it's related to hitting things with my fists, I hope not. Plus, aging.

Came across this groove...damn.
