Rudy_Ment wrote:Interesting video of Todd with Styx. I just looked the band up, not knowing anything about them, and then listened to 'Babe' which I know very well. Oh, so that was THEM, I had no idea. Great song. Apart from that though, I don't know anything else of theirs. Possibly it's a US thing, I'm not sure if Styx are that well known in the UK. Or maybe they are and I've been living under a rock.

Styx was huge in the late 70s. This was their biggest hit at the time. Back then, they had a different singer, and the drummer and bass player were brothers. The bass player left the band when he was infected with AIDS, and the drummer died in 1996 at the age of 47. The original singer, Dennis DeYoung was replaced by Larry Gowan in 1999.

Rudy_Ment wrote:This is a new documentary that I watched on the BBC a couple of weeks ago called 'On Drums...Stewart Copeland!' and it's now shown up on youtube. It's pretty entertaining, with Copeland hanging and playing with a bunch of A listers including Stanton Moore, Chad Smith, Sheila E and Taylor Hawkins. Some Buddy footage too.

Thanks!

Every time I see Chad Smith I think about this... ugh

Deen is SO fluid! Wow...such a freaky thing this cat sounds like Perry...
this is amazing...could be 1978 all over...if this band toured and Deen can sing
a tour, sell out all over...fans miss Greg bigtime

I wonder if they will have trouble selling the show. I hope they make it to the Midwest, I'd love to catch it. Deen is crazy good.

John Guerin, this is a busy groove, but the dead drums and mix make it fit, with a San Fran vibe.
