I just heard this live album yesterday, its ok. I prefer Shannon Forrest's playing. The whole gig just seemed quite angry and bitter.

Yeah, Jeppe. His groove is so "money". I'm a big fan of his.

In a way the group reminds me of Stuff. Not in the way that they play. Just the fact that their stuff is groove-based rather song-based.

There is a take of that one with Jeff, but it's that one here that I really love, Jack on drums, I play that song with my 5tet, it's instant fire !!!

Jack probably has the best ears in the business (OK...just my opinion). His playing is always responsive and soulful. On this track you can add silky smooth to that list as well. Thanks for posting that, Rodge.

BTW...do you have a video/recording of your group playing that tune? Would love to hear it.

Fun. There are many drummers that would dig having a gong behind them. Great solo.
