Interested in opinions on this cymbal. I've been having that "ride cymbal fever" thing lately. With all the availability to see and hear cymbals online now I've listened to a bunch of rides from various manufacturers. Here I've thought I was a zildjian guy but the Paiste 2002 20", 22" and 24" seem to be what I'm really liking.

I think the 24" rides are the nicest. Especially the Alex VanHalen model, which is especially nice. The 24" Giant Beat is great too.

I have a 20" and it's sweet. I was surprised at it's versatility, actually. Killer bell, great wash, ping cuts nicely through a loud rock band, crashable. I have other Paistes that have more of a specific sound "envelope", no matter how hard you hit them, them still sounds somewhat the same, but the 2002 can produce a wide variety of sounds. It's not as controlled as the others.

Funny, I'm a total Zildjian guy, but I have a pair of 2002 sound edge hats and have been thinking about buying a 20" 2002 ride. I love the consistency from cymbal to cymbal with Paiste. It's fun to take them to rehearsal or occasional gig and break out something different.
I bought the hats because I saw Jeff play them on the video for "Without Your Love." I thought they were so crisp and glassy sounding...and they are.

I'm a convert. i have the 15" sound edge hats. They just slip into the mix so well, and are an absolute blast to play.

I like the 20", had one years ago with four rivets in it. Really nice. But the 24" Reverend Al is amazing.
