There surely are fewer females drummers out there in general.

Today I think you get more points for it than you loose. I've never observed anything to the contrary worth noting. Some people choose to see issues everywhere, but that's on them, really.

When I went to the conservatory bass was very popular with females, so much so that it was probably 50/50.

Drummers are much more rare and those getting higher education as performers or techer sare even more rare. Siv who I've shared some vids of, studied jazz in Trondheim. Started playing drums very early, has a father who's a jazz musician and just kept it going. Wouldn't use her for everything, but she's very good at what she does. Good people, too.
