This is how I discovered Simon.

Luke was my hero then until I got tired of hi gain and discovered Landau.

It's funny how that type of guitar wankage doesn't really touch me anymore. I can say exactly the same about flat boring jazz tone. Actually guitar sucks. That's why play drums now. :P

Incredible playing and good tunes !!
Strange, only one vocal and nobody else doing backing vocals.

I was completely hooked on that album. Remember playing "Party in Simon's Pants" on graduation day in high school. More inappropriate repertoire would be hard to find. We had fun, though.

Funny part is that it wasn't even our idea. The trumpet player who had the responsibility of organising the thing, currently conductor of Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, decided it was a good idea. Pushed the drummer through it who ended up practicing all night. I think he pretty much fell asleep as soon as the song was done.

That U.K. Drum Show solo above is just....so cool. Pure “Simon” in every aspect, and a pleasure to listen to. DO NOT listen thru your phone though. This one has to be played through headphones or through proper speakers to get the full effect. MONSTROUS sound coming off that kit, especially the bass drums. Amazing!

I went to see this gig at The Marquee club in London and it was amazing, the first time I had seen Luke or Simon in the flesh. As for the BV's, no one else in the band could sing and I think the budget was pretty tight, so another person on the gig would have cost too much.

Interestingly, it was because of this video that Luke and Garfield fell out. Garfield licenced this footage to Ohn Filter without asking Lukather and Luke hit the roof!
