The Protocol 4 new vid is just spot on...band is TIGHT...love that guitar tone!
Drum-bass dynamics really stood out and that snare pop is always so sweet.
He just keeps those big open toms alive...

For Humanity (DarWin) smokes! What a groove and guitar sound...(voice over
was a mistake imo after opening, but what can you do...)

This tune travels out then comes back nice...

Hello folks,
I suppose this is a dream come true, talking about music with some of my heroes SIMON PHIILLIPS and BILL EVANS.
This was my first interview ever, done 30 minutes before their show....
These musicians are the best in every aspect.
Next week we will post the full interview with these two men.
This is a teaser (me asking and enjoying every second)

For my money, I would buy Simon Phillips for most every situation. He has in incredible arsenal of styles and sounds. Hasn't changed the size of his kit in
40 years. I get pretty excited every time I hear him play.

Even his small group/acoustic playing is nice. His tuning is always sublime.

I remember waiting 2 1/2 hours past show start outside of a small club on the Symbiosis tour because Simon was tuning his drums. :D

That's one of the main disadvantages to a large set of drums.

This is 12-13 years before I started playing drums, but I seem to remember reading an interview in a Norwegian music mag where he said he found it more challenging to tune using Diplomats as resos, but that's the sound he wanted, so..
