That trick with the head on the snare is GOLD!!! *stolen*

That's a very, very old trick. I always carry the cut-out centres of two not-too-old snare heads in my snare case. Turns a tight snare "tock" into a ballad snare "durf" without messing with tuning.

That's an even better idea, thanks! Always learning something new. I would just spin a lug loose before, but this is much better.
