cool tune. looking forward to the rest of the album. hope that's not what it's going to sound like on the record once it's released. i couldn't hear the vocals for shit. i made out maybe 3 words the entire song. holy guitar loud. guitar is way up front and in your face.

It's just mp3 crap. I'm sure the official release will sound better. Song writing is a miss. It's like they listened to some old stuff like Bastille day and hooked it up with an instrumental from snakes and arrows. The cords and groove from this song is an instrumental from S&A. Nothing new. Not that it's bad. Just not refreshing. Same Geddy Lee phrasing. No syncopation. No depth. Heavy yes. I'll still buy a few copies of the album. Love the band. Yup, I know, they are pushing 60. They are not permanent waves writing freaks anymore. I'll take it.

1:22. They've come a long way in 20 studio albums.

I'm turning into Steve - I couldn't even make it through the song.

There is some uneven albums after 'Signals' but I hung on until the horrid rap on 'Roll the Bones' showed up. I like a few tunes from 'Roll the Bones' and 'Counterparts' but things start to dim. I'm satisfied to still listen to the older stuff without feeling the need to be a fan of the new output.

Must respect to them for their incredible longevity but...
I miss the days of Red Lenses, Digital Man, Ghost of a Chance & Entre Nous ;)

Thanks for the link..

Tune sounds good... But there's something about Geddy Lee's voice that I just can't get into nowadays ...

It's pretty much a given that most of us who are Rush fans miss the days of 2112 up through Grace Under Pressure.

That still stands as their golden period for most of us.

But at least they are still with us, and playing. And, putting out new music.

I listened to the new track a few times. A couple thoughts…

It is heavy, but really no more heavy than their other recent albums and it has some pretty cool and interesting parts. Lots of cool ear candy in there too. Intro especially.

Love the snare and crashes. Hats, not so much.

Is that a long song or what?

Anyway, good on them. And more power to them.

Long live Rush!

:)

They lost me after "Signals". "A Farewell To Kings" is still their zenith in my eyes (and ears).
