Manhattan/Brooklyn 7/13-15

Will be in NYC on these dates and wanted to see if guys could point my wife and I to something entertaining on the music scene. Thanks much. Wanted to try and see Charlie Hunter but he's in Italy.

Didn't see any music other than a jazz band on the street...who were very good! But I did seek out Steve Maxwell's Vintage drum shop right near Time Square (723 7th I think...3rd floor). He had some very cool stuff. A shit load of cymbals and 2 isolation rooms each with small, superbly tuned kits to play while trying cymbals. Customer service was just perfect...simply said let me know if I can help and never bothered me again! One kit was a SOLO 18/12/14 with a 6" deep snare....man did that kit sing...awesome. Loads of fun to try every cymbal you ever heard of between there & Sam Ash around the corner. Sabian AA Raw 22" is my new favorite ride!
