I have an 80's Gretsch kit and while it does sound beautiful there are a multitude of flaws from crappy drilling to bad chrome on some of the lugs, not to mention the crummy spurs that someone already mentioned. Yes, you are stuck with them since there are no replacements available with the same hole pattern. Those in the photo are not as old as mine...I have the tail end of that era's hex badge during the Baldwin days. These look like they might be around 1985 after Fred bought the company back...the hardware looks great! But, I agree keep the Yammys especially if you already have a Gretsch, and like the previous poster said, the stuff they make now is absolutely killer. I'd save some cash and go that route, if it were me that is.

Decision made...!!! I'll keep my Yami. All and all is true I already have a Gretsch '98 wich sounds amazing so I don't need other one, it seems more downsides than up sides with this one. With all honesty, THANKS for the advice, it sound that I was going to miss my Yamaha...!!!
