I'll probably never get an endorsement though, so I can have both.

Vinnie's gear sounds good on this. In such open music the Ludwig character comes through. The old stuff still sounded better IMO, though. Had more character and cut through in a way that appealed more to me.
I'll probably never get an endorsement though, so I can have both.
I do like the sound of his hammered brass supraphonic a lot, though. I'll have to get one of those if I have some money left after my summer vacation. One of those 12" maple snares as well.
I'll probably never get an endorsement though, so I can have both.

I fall in love a little more with Esperanza Spaulding evey time I hear or see her. Afro blue was killing thanks to her and Glasper. Actually, I dug the whole band. I thought there was some nice drum stuff from Vinnie and TLC on Night in Tunisia, though I wish it wasn't just straight up and down backbeat for the whole tune. Ahh, whatever. Thanks for the link!
Moderation's all well and good, just don't overdo it.

Yep...that was my favorite performance of the concert actually...that band should go on tour!

Whoray! Here's my chance to be negative: didn't like Vinnie's sound at all. Bass drum sounds poopy, no low end, cymbals didn't come through at all, and his playing was above average. nothing more. Terri Lynne's sound was far and away better....Vinnie cant top himself anymore and he's not trying to either. He's still a great drummer.
