I noticed that almost all video clips from the original 'Vinnie clinics' thread have been removed.
So let's start a new one.

The good news...check out this clip...I have never seen it before >>>

I have that DVD, my favorite moment is when Vinnie plays that shuffle starting at 7:42mn.

PS : you guys noticed that he wears a Nik Kershaw t-shirt ? :-)
I come from Tain, Vinnie, Omar, Jeff, Fish, Stewart, and many more...

The relativity of equipment. He was playing state of art Yammies here and those watching (if there was Youtube in '83) would be playing their 70's kits most likely. It's the ideas, execution, feel...but the equipment was solid. I would say the big tech leap is the foot pedal since. He played match grip most of this.

Or you can download the Firefox add-on "DownloadHelper".

P.S.: When you play the downloaded clip with the VLC Media Player you can press 'j' or 'k' in order to fix
audio/video sync issues.

Besides the "usual suspects" posted in the HoD archives, does anyone have any of the Q&A sections from VC clinics? Seeing him blow chops over backing tracks is fun and all, but I'm much more interested in getting a window into his process since he's generally pretty close-mouthed on the subject.

27 years old. How? Mind boggling how incredible he was at such a young age. There will never be another like him. All that stuff with Zappa when he was in his early 20's. It's a great time to be alive and witness such greatness. If I was born 1870 I would have missed it all.

There some excellent Q&A clinics out there. I had a lot of them...one from Richmond, VA comes to mind.
I also love the speaking...he is very articulate. I have moved so much, I don't know where a lot of them are,
but Youtube probably has many I'd guess.
