Re: Give Me Some Jeff: MI Clinic!
In recent years, Jeff has grown on me more and more, like no other drummer.
I've been listening to his music for decades, and I still hear more in it.
It just sounds more and more beautiful.
Like for instance, that thing he does at the end of Hold the Line; who does that?
What is that?
That's like something a three year old would do, or a teenager.
It's brilliant.

Man, that whole album is just amazing. Jeff and Manu really split things perfectly.
One of my all time favourite full albums, really!

Re: Give Me Some Jeff: MI Clinic!
I believe Take it to Heart was recorded in Jeff's home from the MI
tape posted here. He refers to this LP. Released in 1990 but recorded in '89
around the time of the MI clinic. I could be wrong...it has that feel to it.
This entire LP is one giant groove on the songs with drumming. I would love someone
to decode the hat lick at: 3:05 where he loops it longer back into the groove.
Is that an accent roll? Vinnie does this type of thing as well...adds such vibrant
flavor to me. Again, as JR said in the posted vid, he never overplays...the
discipline to lay in the pocket. The off beat ride cymbal pattern had to be added correct?
