Super slick playing. Saw most of the gigs at Ponchos in Manhattan Beach, CA. Guy blew me away and you could sit 7 feet away from the guy and see brilliant shit going down. Such a pro. He's got a great gig with Styx. Would love to hear him n different Prog rock gigs cause he can kill.

Todd did a clinic in between gigs...more great reviews;

"Saw Todd at a clinic last night at the drum center of Portsmouth NH. Todd disclosed that he was having some back troubles but you would never know it from the way he played last night! I loved hearing him talk too as he has a great sense of humor and a good wit to match. This is also the first time that I have been able to get to Shane's new place and it is truly amazing. He has built a place that has just about every high end set you could imagine with everything else in between. The vintage museum is also a great treat too as it is packed with many cool vintage drums from the big companies of the day to look at.

The clinic was packed and I saw many guys that I know from the years and it was cool to see guys like Jerome and Dave DiCenso there. I went with two guys that are drumming friends of mine from high school and it was fun to hang out with those guys and talk shop. If anyone has the chance to see Todd in clinic or get over to the drum center it is well worth the trip. I wish them all the success over there." wflkurt (DFO forum)

^^ Great playing by all !!
What´s that in Don Felder´s voice ?
It´s a "vocal effect", it´s seems a flanger some times, or live autune or it´s just me ??

Has bit of a vocoder quality. Might very well be some sort auto-tune, yes.

Not evident with others doing back vocals like they should be done.

Played in a six piece once where we all had a mic and generally people thought we were cheating. We were not.

Felder using auto tune or pre-recorded music is of hot debate...no conclusion,
but many feel it is one way or the other, mostly pre-recorded...one guy did a
careful analysis and found in one song he made the same "mistake" concluding
this was pre-recorded.

I sort of get why they do the rock course in the format that they do, but it makes it a bit harder to just jump on it. Some day. maybe.

Anyway. This performance should probably have more views.

Styx especially Tommy is VERY smart working with youth...he's been doing the
youth orchestra for over ten years now...Styx music becomes relevant to the
next generation, and Tommy makes working with these kids look effortless.
His wife also is involved and is great...she usually gives a pep talk before the
performance. Add that Todd is extremely personable and a good educator...
kinda destroys the concept of the rockhead musicians my dad spoke of as a kid! lol
