Some things I was practising to last year on acoustic and electric before I bought my proper audio interface and mics. Hoping to get my gear setup again soon and make some new acoustic recordings.

10" Zildjian S.R. hats, 12" black panther snare, 6" garden weeds.

Took me a while to learn the indian patterns in this one.

Gotta love a cat with acoustic and V-Drums..."Hmmm, what do I feel like
playing today?" Nice grooves...that Smitty tune had to take a long time to
get down like that. Would be torture for me personally...mad respect!
I dig that phase of Smith, but those verbal "Daggy diggy dahhhs" drives me
nutzzzso.

I did a video on dealing with phase hell recording drums with multiple mics.. Hopefully this will help anyone making vids....

It's really long haha.. but that's what it takes to get through it all.

And this is PART 2 of some improvised grooves I did some weeks ago (PART 1 opened this topic)
The thing is like the part 1: One hour of improvised grooves (only drums), recorded them to a click (various tempos) without any backing tracks and then I programmed some loops over them, with no much backing tracks, just to give some context to the grooves.
I put some Animal Rights oriented names to the grooves.
I am transcribing them right now for future use.
I hope you like it.

Juan...everything about these videos work bro...love the drum cam angle, look and sound!
Drums really sound great. Playing is smoooooth...silky smooth. Seems you spend a good amount
of time within the hats and snare dynamics @2:20 is a nice feel!

Thanks Pocket Player,
Yes, dynamics !!
I´m really interested in them, combined with a "strong" backbeat, applying it to my main musical context (pop, rock, funk...)
And that is what I recorded on those two videos, some examples for using with students.

Haven't visited this thread for a while but yes Juan, I 100% agree with Pocket. Fine fine playing man. Your timing is so on point and great drum sound!

I did a cover of September today using the master track minus the drums that someone uploaded to youtube. My timing isn't as flawless as yours. Still a work in progress :D
My china is an old 20" Wuhan, hardly ever used, I think I've used it just once before since I bought it years ago. Sounds cool but came out quite loud in the mix, lol.
