Was looking at this clip this week, that is some crazy technique.



Love this tune. Watch how VC moves his elbows, his shoulders get a workout. Those Paistes are a predictable sound. Not a huge fan, they speak the same a lot.



Good grief.

If you gonna hire some musicians who know each other well and are world class talent. Why not



Vinnie in the studio laying down a track. The album has some good moments. The Tomi Malm album that came out months back is also great. Vinnie, Simon and a bunch of other drummers.

That appears to be a completely different technique. What happened
to his unique left hand fulcrum...his thumb used to remain high, not cocked,
and his stick would sit very low in that cradle. Seems to be using his thumb
tip now for stroke/rebound.

Hard to really see what's going on with the left hand to me.

I guess a lot has changed with his technique over the years and what I'm mainly thinking is that those sticks are lighter and not as front heavy as his old sigs.
