Hardware cases

Postby Tom Reschke » Fri May 03, 2019 3:33 pm

I've had a golf club bag that I've used for about 15 years to carry my cymbal stands and whatnot. It was my Grandpa's. It was free. It is now basically unusable. What do you all like for hardware cases? I really feel like I can go to a garage sale and get another golf bag but am wondering what you all use. Should I check out actual hardware bags? Or are they just overpriced drum crap because it's sold in a drum store? #weekendchatty?

Chatty is up!
I like the golfbag idea a lot.
I just like anything that's durable and has wheels. Durable. Wheels. That's the priority.

The SKB mid size hardware case has been working well for me for 8+ years. 179-199 depending on where you look.

If I use my own hardware, which I rarely do, I don't use one.

To be a bit more helpful, Hardcase is sort of a standard here in Norway. Lots of Europeans use them, like Gavin Harrison.

I have the big Protection Racket hardware bag with wheels. It has suited me well, it fits everything, and has handles where I can shove it around. The handle doesn't retract easily any more. I like their stuff, good workmanship and design.

Used to use a solid case from Hybrid, that was nice to have. Doesn't fit in a SUV.

I bought one of those carts with wheels, two actually, and both times those cheap plastic wheels busted. I suppose replacing them with solid steel wheels would work better. Cheal and crap product.
