My new snare drum sound !!!

Hi guys,

I´m working on a new song and before I start recording, I like to come up with sounds that will fit the music. ANyway,
I got inspired by the snare sound in Butterfly (Jason Mraz). Mines a bit more edgy, but they do sound close...

Please let me know what you think of the results. I´ll be working on the kick drum next.

i think you hit it pretty spot on. reminds me of throwing the head on the snare kinda fat back r&b sound

thank you guys. thats a black panther steel 14x5.5 tuned low into neve preamps (2 overheads and a close mic) + a gentle eq curve boosting high frequencies starting at 2.5k on...also, a very short verb was used in the direct mic snare . i layered the original snare with a pinch of another sampled snare i had (can´t remember which).
