New Altered video from the BP

Postby Steve Holmes » Wed Nov 03, 2010 2:01 am

So I decided to try something different this time around. To kind of give a sampler of an Altered show I edited together some of the musical moments that I thought were cool. Not just the solos themselves, but where the rhythm section goes and builds underneath the solos, things like that. We've been playing together for a while, and I've got the moments that make me cringe down to a reasonable low I think . =)

Some moments from a few of the tunes that night.

It's available in 720/1080 with better audio if you want to check it out right on YT

That's some grown-up shit right there.

Wish I knew how to pull strings and get you into Ronnies or the 606 or something over here.

Nice work Steve. I think I know what music I'm asking for, for Christmas. I love the hi-hat finesse around 2:42.

Nice work, Mr Holmes!

What cameras did you use?
How did you capture the audio?

I am hoping the Zoom Q3 HD will get close to what you have here! They start shipping soon.

A few of us from the outskirts (Orange County, Inland Empire) need to make the trek for your next Spud date.

Its was 3 HDV cams. Audio was recorded with the Edriol RH09 I think. The mix is 95% from that with one of the cams audio turned up a *hair*. I'm not really a fan of HDV because it's interlaced, but some friends did all the work with the filming so I was happy to let them =)

Steve,

This is really great. That's the kind of jazz/rock/fusion stuff I love.
What you guys do is getting better and better.

Are you going to share/sell the entire performance?
Before I could live in the USA to go to this f*** good place...

It would be awesome.

Victor.

Love it! Hard groove. High energy, even on slow tempos. Swings and rocks at the same time. The epitome of fusion.
Ok, ok! My real name is Go F. Yourself Facebook, III

Man, what a great video. Killer playing by the whole band.
Particularly love that first groove you jump into Steve. Sounds incredible. Having a bit of a hard time catching what's going on there...would you be able to elaborate as to what you're actually playing?
Again, killer video! Hearing those Phoenixes makes me yearn for a set!
