Check this example, @ 3:20 mins

nice example Manu, though the context is different.
I'm pretty sure Vince is pulling some "vinnie magic" for the OP post. it just sounds a little off, just enough. he does it alot though.
like i mentioned before, it sounds almost identical to some of the figures he does with 9's and 11's on the hats that have been transcribed with interlacing accents.

Yeah that's it, yet the sticking to be able to keep the backbeat going at the same time is the tricky part. Im hoping matus will be up for the vid, that'd help a lot

I'm looking for a proper firewire cable for the video capture
I guess I better do it tomorrow with a lesser quality but easier to transfer camera.

This is what makes Vinnie a different beast to almost every other drummer. A lot of drummers can play this stuff, but for Vinnie, it's in there in his system, in his bag of tricks (which is HUGE) and he can just pull this stuff out on a whim....incredible.

This has the same concept as the 'Rub the Stone' groove only the snare is hitting on 3 instead of 2 & 4. No slight on Joe who always does a great job. Just illustrating the difference.

Yes true, thanks for clarifying that Clint!

Re: Folks I need help with the sticking for this!!!!
Hey guys, you're right I think I saw the video on the forum here (though now the top of this thread is showing an Andromeda video?!)
I wanted to test out my new Panasonic camera and threw the lesson together without referencing the original.
Turns out I have a lot to learn about video formats and importing into Final Cut. If you're not familiar with video editing it's a ball ache!
On another note I just finished editing a SoloWorkshop video. Took about two days to finish the editing and ages to encode. It's a 1 hour 15 minute download on my website - joecrabtree.com/masterclass . It breaks down this bit of solo....
All the best,
Joe

Ask and you shall receive huh? Man that was an awesome tutorial Joe, only thing I won't forgive is that you didn't post it here for us after doing it

(you know I am kidding, you are forgiven, for that and anything else, this was just awesome!!)

Joe, the andromeda video is showing on the top of the second page of this thread, if you go back to page 1 (page numbers can be found at the bottom right of the thread) you'll be able to see the original post. Thanks for the video lesson!
