I wasn't very familiar with her music, but, I've read that she was a big talent. So sad that she died at 27. That seems to be a common age for talented substance abusers to die at, like Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.

RIP Amy!

What a waste...

I really like her Back To Black album. Strong voice with a cool sense of timing and phrasing.

Henry, you reminded me of a poster I saw at a shop a few years ago.

knee jerk reaction... not that shocking. feel bad for family members. very sad. so damn young! she was just getting started. drugs and other things got in the way. she was unique in a sort of around the bout sort of way. any significant musician that passes is sad. i don't believe in an after life or god. that's insane in itself. condolences to the family members.

i hate death. it's the end result to all you have done.

In 2009 she planned to record a Reggae album...that would have been awesome.
The label rejected the idea....pathetic >>>

"The 25-year-old singer - who recently spent three months in the Caribbean on holiday and working on new material - has been told to return to the recording studio because label bosses don't like her new reggae sound."

"Amy Winehouse has reportedly had her new songs rejected by her record label. A source said: "Amy was very productive during her stay in St. Lucia. She wrote a lot of songs, but the majority of them just aren't hitting the mark. She seems to have ditched her trademark vintage soul sound and is now heavily influenced by reggae. Her bosses don't think it's a wise move to change her style so sharply and have told her that."

"Bosses are determined to ensure Amy's upcoming album matches the success of her 2006 LP 'Back to Black'."
