I'll chime in on the EAD10. It's an amazing practice tool for playing along with music. You can plug right in to the aux in and everything is in your phones. Use the free Rec N' Share app for iOs and you can import songs from iTunes. It will analyze and give you a click, you can speed up or slow a song down, loop a section if you want. It works great for small gigs but you'll need to tweak the mic settingsa9remember, you have a pair of live mics on your bass drum so a wedge behind you is trouble). There is one on a kit at Pro Drum if you want to give it a try, I ran Simon through it so he can give you a tour.
