DW MDD Machined Direct Drive Single Pedal

Looks like they finally got it right.

It is all about the angle of pulldown
and the adjustments that can be
made regarding it. This looks like
they have taken the best of Boa
and put it in metal.

I cannot test this for you but it looks
like the right design ...

Re: RIP Jimmy Copley

Nom,

Thanks. I can't say that I will
be over and through this but
I am alive and I am able to
support my family and with
with my time, I can look into
and study the things that I
need to for us. That is some-
thing. I try and stay focused
on that.

Well, I will never be that pedal
guy again. I have ...

RIP Jimmy Copley

I searched for a thread on
Jimmy Copley. I did not find
anything on him.

I saw him play live for the
first and sadly last time on
this tour for Tears For Fears
way back when:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcbgRUQaza8

At the time, I was playing
matched and right-handed
matched. I actually was ...

Re: The Tony Williams Thread

Bananajou,

I am glad that they are still
out there and available. It
is clear that there was a lot
about him that led to ideas
about how and why he did
things. He changed personally
during the 1980s and I think
it was in a good way.

Since the amputation, I have
had a lot of time to think and ...

Re: The Tony Williams Thread

Not sure if the old posts are
stilll around but I talked a LOT
about Tony's setup and his exer-
cises and approach at the time
and all of which were counter-
intuitive. It will sound nuts.

He set everything up to make
you work harder. Number One:
It encouraged you to have more
of a full grip on ...

Steve said to me that reading
is a tool and it helps to organize
but emphasized that with a chart,
my job is not to get my part right
BUT to lay it down so that every
one else can get THEIR part right.

Re: Tommy Campbell

Pocket,

You are very kind. I have
great memories of you and
others, here. I know what
you mean about the eyes.
People strain horizontally.
I think we get more vertical
as we get older. Must be the
earth calling us. lol

Hope you are well. We'll
catch up soon enough.

Re: The Peter Erskine Thread

Pete is SO awesome!
He does it ALL. I think
of him as one of the
very complete players
and what a nice guy.

Re: Tommy Campbell

Tommy was at Berklee
when I was there and he
had tentacle hands then
and still does. He is SO
tall and his fingers are
so long. Tony was not as
tall but had those long
fingers. I think they can
give one better control.
He was always good but
got better when he left
Boston and went to the
Far East ...
