Even if you are a member, the videos don't download easily...![]()
Shame really, 'cause I bet Sting's team has lots of footage of Vinnie rehearsing with Sting over the years, which to my mind would be far more interesting than just concert footage. Some of the stuff on Sting;s ipad app is good though, but again, there must be far more to look at.
I've been listening again to the Timothy White Chicago sessions from 91 and 93, and Vinnie's drums and cymbals sound so great in this stripped-down setting: even better are the Unplugged rehearsals....lots of jaw dropping hi hat noodling while soundchecking; stunning snare warm ups; groove practicing......you name it -it's on there...including Sting's request: " Vinnie, see this cymbal??...move it!!!" then..."if you were a real jazz drummer, it'd be behind you!"

I'd like to hear that Unplugged rehearsal. I love Vinnie's performance on the show/DVD. I wonder if they know they would make a TON if they released the Soul Cages VHS on DVD?![]()

I would like to give it a listen, or two.

which sometimes obscures the sheer genius going on elsewhere
