Would you be able to ID this snare? This is a Ludwig Blue Olive one, but I'm interested in the material. Steel, brass, what? Tried to look up the serial number visible in one of the pics but to no avail.

I believe that is a Ludwig S/L snare drum, see catalog page for details:

Yeah, I think it´s the classic Metal over Wood type... Never tried one of those, but being Ludwig it should be decent at least...
