If you never have been to The Gorge in WA State, it is a must.
I can't think of a better place to see a concert.



I've seen many concerts in my day...this might have been the best band live I have
ever seen. Amazing comes to mind!

Carter was beyond professional. This is a talent at the highest level. What he did after
the show was also engaging...he threw drum sticks out to the crowd, not just one pair.
He unloaded all of his sticks, one at a time for about five mins from the stage. I have never
seen a drummer interact with the audience after such an impressive performance.

I am not a big DM fan...his music just doesn't resonate with me as a listener, but as a live
performer...unparalleled. Rarely do you see a crowd shouting, "Thank you Dave..." after
a performance. This was preaching to the choir at every level.

The gorge and Red Rocks are two venues in the states that are amazing venues.

I guess your not looking forward to the new DMB album that is coming out this month.

I've seen Carter live a bunch of times over the years with DMB and he never disappoints.

The whole band, really. Those guys tour like there's no tomorrow.

Cool pic man! Sounds like you had fun despite not being a fan. Dave is the real deal and I always liked his stuff for the most part.
Carter's got a pretty unique voice on the kit. I like the way he accents the hat during grooves especially. Clearly a Dennis thing but very well done.

YES Steve...i forgot to mention...i heard Chambers and Garibaldi in his playing.
He is the combo of the two. The bass player held it ALL together...serious
cat...the horn section/solos were unreal. He really likes to let each player
solo into the ground on each tune (for the most part) and they took it to
extreme levels...energy was off the wall.

What Carter does so well it keep the groove (like a machine) in this funky
syncopated way that does not interfere...i have felt he plays way too much
on the early recordings, but it worked well live. he has made it acceptable
and his voice now is organic to DM's music. Chambers is the only one I can
think of that can handle this gig ala Carter and not have huge fan disappointment.
His fans are loyal...

On the Gorge experience...ultimate really. Red Rock comes to mind, but it is
not open like the Gorge...in a Woodstock sorta way. Needs to be on every
bucket list somewhere.

I respect the cat, but to me is just too much embellishment... Doesn´t work imo.
He has tons of chops, but the flow is just not there... Maybe I should check newer stuff?
(The album with Matthews and Tim Reynolds alone is great!)
