Rattling stands

Postby Julián Fernández » Tue Dec 18, 2012 1:16 am

I have a couple of nice old Pearl stands that overtime became really noisy... To the point there´s no way to roll on a cymbal w/o this awful rattling... Anyone succeed trying to fix rattling stands or better just getting rid of it?

Thanks!

J.

Did you try tightening up the Allen screw in that hole just below the round tilter yet?

I'm pretty sure that is not a screw, but just a press fitting.

True. And not much you can do with them once they loosen up. I haven't had much luck at least.

I have some old Tama stands that have a similar looking hole with set screws in them. They re-tighten ok.

If that's what is making the noise maybe you could put a drop of locktite on it? You're never going to remove that plug.
