The only 2 that come to my mind would be Gordy and Sir Paul...other than that, dunno. Touring has been a break even proposition for the vast majority of acts for a long time now.DSOP wrote:With who? Who is touring and actually making money? What big acts that hire sidemen are out there on tour paying big bucks? Name two.Pocketplayer wrote:I've always asked that myself...he has the ego...why not get the bank and do a tour or two?why Weckl doesn't get the bigger gigs

Re: WECKL - RECENT ACTIVITY & VIDEOS
This isn´t recent, but for me is very interesting.
The old CCEB, without the techno drum-sound, Dave playing the "new" Yamaha.
The drums and band´s sound is incredible, and it sounds fresh even now...
There is more in Youtube from this Beneath the Mask tour.
Lovely...

The volume is low until the 3:57

Re: WECKL - RECENT ACTIVITY & VIDEOS
Revisiting this again:
This drum/keys part, from 13:00 to 19:00 is INTENSILY BEAUTIFUL.
Jesussssss....
Even Dave is smiling during 1-2 seconds after some of his trades....

Re: WECKL - RECENT ACTIVITY & VIDEOS
^^ Wow that was cool . Old school Weck on non-traditional weck drum sizes. He's got them tuned to sound exactly like his drums sounded back then. Interesting.

Recent. With Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin.
I wonder who put the camera there. It seems to be fixed on the stage.
