On the professional side, people probably won't say anything bad. That's just the way things are, everyone speaks pretty highly of everyone.

Behind closed doors however, I've heard some big names say some... interesting.. things about him. I'll leave it at that.
I wasn't really thinking about bad things they would say. I thought they would be like, uuh who's that guy? FG seems to have been everywhere, the first Miles Coltrane jam etc...

I have to say, I was expecting more like...

...Yoda is to Luke SkyWalker...

...or something more Zen-like, and off into the obscure metaphors.

You know... what stuffing is to turkey....what Alleve is to stiff joints...what Vince Lomardi is to Bart Starr...

Guess I am out-of-touch with "the new perception".

Other ideas:
Freddie Gruber is to Neil Peart (awa DW, SS,...), as what a sucker is to soul.
or
to want a buffer is to an edge.
or
to what the reaper is to life.

ok I'm done.

There's lots of guys that have been around, everywhere, for what ever reasons. Despite how hard anyone may work, it still an industry highly based on who you know.
