A certain song from that show has made Sting not so popular with many. Guess the intention was lost on some. Still a lot of unrest there.

Thanks beat hit, I'd missed that.
Don't get me wrong, I like Josh's drumming a lot. And I do like Sting too, not just for the drumming. But I've seen him a few times and he's not playing hear me this time so I'd really only want to make the trip for the V man...Odd-Arne Oseberg wrote:Going to pop shows just to see the drummer.
Now that's an attitude I can appreciate and respect.

Cant wait to hear Josh play 7 days, Saint Augustine In Hell and I hung my head...
haha, just kidding... It should be refreshing for Sting to play with different players from time to time...

Here we are, some brand new Vinnie from last month. Funny, I had just posted this singer with Damien Schmitt on drums in the assorted videos thread, and I was thinking what it would be like with vinne backing her. And then found this.

Re: VINNIE - The thread about Colaiuta
Have to say this is the most focused and coherent Sting's band has sounded in ages, to my ears. The Simon and Gabriel collabs were pretty wooly round the edges, as was the stuff before that. There's a tightness and energy to this four-piece he's not had for a while.
Someone schooled in using sequencers, can you explain to me how the backing vocals work? Clearly the BVs are Sting - the Millers are miming along but it's Sting on the audio. So I imagine Vinnie triggers each song, with a click for the monitor and backing vocals for the PA. But Sting still seems to count in some of the songs, how does that work with the sequencer being in the right place? And in Every Breath there's a long false-ending and then it comes back in with the BVs again - how does that work?
I've always wondered about this.

Any thoughts on the new Sting album?
