I'd love to see Steve Jordan break out those baby blue Yamahas and some Colorsounds.
Aronoff subbed for Anton for a week and
destroyed his kit. I found that quite wrong.

I saw Shawn Pelton subbing for Anton the other day.

It's been said before, but I just think it's cool as shit that Letterman does something like this.
As many times as I've heard Cissy Strut slaughtered or cheapened by both amatuer and pro artists alike, I felt like Dennis retained a bit of that Zig feel to it while bringing himself as well. I liked it. I'm sure he could have gone ultra drum geek on that tune but he kept a feel and a theme to what he did while still being impressive. Mark of a true musician there, imo.
Would love to see in the future:
- Jojo
- Will Kennedy
- Gadd
- Vinnie
- Weckl
- Erskine
- Stanton Moore
- Todd Sucherman
- Harvey Mason
- Herlin Riley
- Garibaldi

Being a huge Dennis fan, that was kinda disappointing for me.
Why hold back?
It’s “Drum Solo Week” on a national tv show for crying out loud!
If that isn’t the right time to let it all hang out , when is?
Not sure why he didn’t let it rip. I’m sure he has his reasons.
I’m going to go listen to this for awhile…

We can toss names back and forth all day long about who we'd like to see on Drum Week III, but any list is incomplete if it doesn't include...

The 'aright' meter is pegged in this one.

Letterman obviously loved the Buddy Rich appearances on Johnny Carson, as we all did.
He *may* end up spotlighting some kids...like Carson did...
I prefer the big kids. It's good to make them nervous for a gig again.
All these guys were a bit nervous, as Gavin pointed out.

It seems to me that Dennis wasn't warmed up? IDK If there's anyone that can annihilate a drumset, it's Dennis.
I might add that Dennis' musicality rivaled Gavin for certain. Maybe that's what he was going for?
