Apparently so. Drum Workshop builds hardware for body-builders and lumberjacks. Yamaha designs hardware for sensitive arthritis sufferers.

Hahaha - that was a good one DSOP - point

But, seriously - the 9000 series hardware was waay too heavy for me - I sold all my stands, including the 9000 snare stand on ebay - all 7000 for me now.

I had my Yamaha MCA set/hardware when I was in high school/college and heavy club gigging days, so I'm sure that lead to faster wear and tear on my gear = stands held up fine, but were heavy - which is why I switched to DW (9000 then to 7000 after breaking my back a couple of times)- but, I'm no lumberjack or body builder.

Looks like Keith still prefers Yamaha cymbal and hi-hat stands:

I pretty much know where these are going before I hit play. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

There are two things I would really like Keith Carlock to do: (1) get a few good night's sleep . . . in a row, and (2) wash his hair and get those greasy bangs off of his forehead.

PS: And one more thing, he needs to play a different groove. That same grove for everything thing is starting to remind me of "The Professor."

Keith seems very impulsive to me and it's in his playing and the way he talks. Yeah Kinda drives me nuts.

I like Keith's playing a lot. He doesn't sound like anybody else.

Carlock kinda reminds me to early gadd (with that Gretsch kit!)... I think he was playing an open 18" BD on Alive? What a sound...

Take a genius drummer and you will always find people who will try to put him down and make him small..
He has the wrong shampoo, sweats to much and sleeps to little?
Tell him that when you meet him......

I agree, so many drummers sound the same, Keith has his own style, I respect that, and he's a great musician so yes.

Keith is great! I have no problem listening to him do his thing. Nice guy, too...
